How to remove moss from tarmac: Tarmac Cleaning Torbay

Updated: Feb 3

Moss from exterior surfaces such as block paving, patio slabs and brick walls can normally be removed by pressure washing if the surfaces are in good condition.

The problem arises when you have moss growing on top of tarmac or if exterior surfaces are damaged or in a poor condition.

Pressure/Jet washing tarmac can easily damage the surface of the tarmac leaving lines or even breaking up the tarmac if using a turbo nozzle when pressure washing.

Pressure washing using a fan jet attachment can be safely used on tarmac but does not remove all the moss which embeds into the surface of the tarmac.

That's why we use MossOff (Chemical-free) to treat surfaces to kill and prevent moss:

MossOff is a highly effective moss killer that provides long-lasting results.

MossOff is a chemical-free and natural moss killer.

MossOff is Safe to Children, Pets, Plants and Pond Life, effective and long lasting and kills unwanted moss.

When moss build up on tarmac is heavy, we tend to pressure wash the surface of the tarmac using a fan jet attachment or flat surface cleaner to remove the majority of the moss. Then when the surface is dry, we apply MossOff using a portable electric trolley sprayer to form a coating around the moss and when dry, it slowly kills all the remaining moss deep into the surface of the tarmac.

You will notice over the next couple of weeks the moss begin to change colour and slowly die.

MossOff is long lasting and carries on working for up to a year and also prevents moss from regrowing.
